Library Book Club-A Wrinkle In Time
The library will host a book club on A Wrinkle in Time on February 21, 2018 in the Tri-State Iron & Metal Atrium. The discussion will be from 12:15-1:30 p.m. and will be led by Dr. Drew Morton.

PLACE Presents Dr. Michael Wellman
On Tuesday, February 20, PLACE presents Dr. Michael Wellman, from the University of Michigan. He will present a lecture titled "When Algorithms Trade: Artificial Intelligence Meets Finance". The lecture is at 7:00 PM in Eagle Hall. Make plans to attend!

Library Book Club-Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
The library will host a book club on The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks on February 28, 2018 in the Tri-State Iron & Metal Atrium. The discussion will be from 3:00-4:00 p.m. and will be led by Dr. Kim Murray.

Pasta Palooza
Make plans to attend the Pasta Palooza sponsored by the staff council! On March 9, faculty and staff are invited to a chicken spaghetti lunch and bingo for prizes. Tickets are just $10 and proceeds go towards the staff council fund to support Family Fun Day, the summer ice cream truck, holiday events, and much more. Alternative Teacher Certification Program Information Session February 15th, 4:30-6:30 PM
There will be an information session for those interested in Eagles Teach ALT on February 15th, 4:30-6:30 PM Eagle Hall. Eagles Teach is an alternative certification programs and is designed for those with a bachelor’s degree that want a fast track to certification.  A&M–Texarkana’s alternative program is in its fifteenth year and has certified hundreds of teachers for area schools.  Participants are certified in 14 months through course work and a paid internship as a first-year teacher in a school district or a student teaching experience.  Participants earn graduate level credit and often have only a few more courses to earn a Master’s degree beyond certification.

Applications will be accepted April 1st-30th to begin in the summer session starting June 4th. Those admitted can be considered for hire for fall 2018 in Texas area schools.
