Welcome to the Eagle Family!

Congratulations on your acceptance to A&M-Texarkana!  It is my pleasure to welcome all of you to the ever-growing Eagle Family! I hope that you will join us next semester, and the staff in our office looks forward to meeting you personally very soon!

Students who plan to attend TAMUT are now able to access information for Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR). SOAR currently has two tracks: New Student Orientation (NSO) for freshman students or Transfer Student Orientation (TSO). 

For FRESHMEN students beginning Summer or Fall of 2017:

Freshmen are required to complete online orientation, attend a New Student Conference on August 17th, 21st, or 23rd and attend Hatch Camp from August 25-27.

  1. Complete Online Orientation
  2. Use the link at the end of Online Orientation to register for New Student Conference (Please note: you do not have to be logged in to fill out this form. If you are using a mobile device, be sure to scroll down to begin filling out the form.)
  3. Meet with an advisor and register for classes (Completing the form at the end of online orientation will let an advisor know that you are ready to schedule an appointment)
  4. Attend Hatch Camp from August 25-27th (move-in day is August 24th if you are living on campus). Hatch camp is mandatory for all new students.

For TRANSFER students beginning Summer or Fall of 2017:

Transfer students will complete an online orientation prior to registering for classes (registration for transfers will begin April 27th) and then attend a New Student Conference event prior to classes beginning.

  3. Meet with an advisor and register for classes (Completing the form at the end of online orientation will let an advisor know that you are ready to schedule an appointment)

What time do I need to arrive on the date I signed up for? Check-in starts at 5:30pm and dinner is served at 6:00pm

For entry during the Summer 2017 Semester:

Completing Orientation will consist of the following steps:

  1. Complete Online Orientation
  2. Meet with an advisor and register for classes (Completing the form at the end of online orientation will let an advisor know that you are ready to schedule an appointment)
  3. You will need to get your student ID card made in the Office of Student Life in University Center Suite 126
